EOHR announces the release of its annual report of 2003

    22/6/2004
EOHR will be holding a press conference on Thursday 24th of June, at 12:00 Noon, for the announcement of releasing its 14th annual report, which tackles, through documents and statistics, the human rights conditions and basic freedoms in Egypt through the year 2003.

EOHR's annual report is considered to be one of the most important publications the organization issues. The annual report gives a general indicator about the human rights status in Egypt through a whole year based on information acquired by the organization through monitoring and documenting. EOHR confirms that the violations monitored give a clear example of some practices committed against the basic human rights stated in this report.

EOHR's annual report of 2003 is divided into three main sections:
Section One: deals with the main developments in the field of legislation, judicial decisions and procedures related to human rights in Egypt through year 2003.

Section Two: represents the main body of the report, as it includes all the results of monitoring, documentation, and follow-ups of human rights conditions in Egypt for the year 2003.

Section Three: statistically displays the activities of the organization through the year 2003, including its campaigns to spread human rights culture. Also includes a full presentation of EOHR's specialized programs; "Legal aid for refugees", and "Legal aid for women".

The annual report also includes an appendix of recommendations and requests issued by EOHR concerning the violations monitored in the report. EOHR hopes that these recommendations would find their way to the Egyptian authority, and to be highlighted by intellectuals and human rights activists in Egypt, aiming to restrict specifics practices that threaten basic human rights in Egypt.
