EOHR calls for investigation in the death of 'El Saeed El Deghedy' in Damietta Governorate

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) condemns the death of 'El Saeed El Deghedy' in poll station (Al-Khiata village), Bandar Damietta Constituency stated in Damietta Governorate, in which security forces (SF) opened fire and tear gas bombs on voters, and many were injured.

The EOHR observer monitored a massive besiege via security forces in some stations in (Bandar Damietta Constituency), in which it witnessed the competition between the Muslim Brotherhood candidate (Saber Abdel Sadeq) and the National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate (Samir Mousa) on syndic professions seat, the SF prevented the voters from getting inside via opening fire, rubber bullet and tear gas bombs.

The situation led to the death of 'El Saeed El Deghedy' (40 years) and many injured (Ahmed Eid, Ali El Labban, Mohamed Maqlad, Mohamed Khaled, Mohamed El Said El Talkhawy and Ashraf Zaatar), finally, Samer El Masry who is in a critical state and he was transferred to al-Mansoura Public Hospital.

By the way, the parliamentary elections third phase round one witnessed the death of 'Gomaa Saad El Zephtawy' the supporter of 'Hamdeen Sabahy' candidate of al-Karama and National Front Movement, in which he was shot by security forces' gun fires, while the second round in Alexandria Governorate witnessed the death of 'Mohamed Khalil Ibrahim' the private driver of 'Hassan Hussien' the Independent candidate, in al-Gomroq and al-Manshia Constituency, the victim was standing before poll station (the Egyptian Company Stores for Navigation) and he was stabbed by cold steel and then he was transferred to Ras al-Teen Hospital (in a critical state) where he was dead.

According to EOHR's refusal to security forces' violent acts against voters, EOHR recalls again security apparatus to investigate immediately in the death case, and prosecute the doers as soon as possible.
