EOHR calls for investigation in the transgression act against Diaa el Deen Dawoud and Ahmed Hassan in Damietta Governorate

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) condemns the transgression act against 'Diaa el Deen Dawoud', candidate of al-Karama and National Front Movement, and chair of al-Arabi al-Nasseri Party, and 'Ahmed Hassan', the party's Secretary General.
The two victims were dealing with security forces to let the voters get inside al-Roda station -Farskour Constituency, in Damietta Governorate.
Accordingly, EOHR calls for immediate investigation in this act, as it is considered a violation to the Constitution and international human rights instruments, and investigate with the doers declaring the results of the prosecution to the public.
EOHR observers declares the testimonial of the victim (Ahmed Hassan) , stating: I and Mr. Diaa el Deen were standing in front of al-Roda station, we witnessed security forces trying to prevent the voters from getting inside, until we get into the act and demanded the citizens' right to cast their votes, but they discarded us and ordered transgressions against voters, I was beaten by the back of the officer's gun and my leg was broken, then I was transferred to Farskour Public Hospital to have the necessary check up'.
According to EOHR's declaration of the critical state of the situation, it calls the authorities and Parliamentary Elections High Commission (PEHC) to investigate urgently to stop the transgressions which are considered an abuse to the Constitution and international human rights instruments, and calls the Interior Ministry for immediate investigation with the officer who ordered the transgressions against the two victims (Diaa el Deen Dawoud and Ahmed Hassan).
