EOHR demands immediately releasing Dr. Ayman Nour

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) demands freeing immediately Dr. Ayman Nour, Chair of al-Ghad Party and a former member in People's Assembly, due to ill treatment and his deteriorated health status, and it calls the Public Prosecution to investigate in the causes of his hunger strike.
On 8th December 2005, Nour started a hunger strike, as a protest for being provisionally detained; the prosecuted prisoners were ill treated and their finger prints were taken and signed officially, while Nour's date of imprisonment was on (5/12/2005), in which Cairo Criminal Court issued its verdict of detention until the date of his trial (10/12/2005), in the trial of manipulating al-Ghad Party's authorizations, Moreover the court postponed the prosecution to (24/12/2005) for the second time.
Moreover, before Nour's last prosecution session, he carried out a hunger strike and remains in the same status until now.
On this pretext, EOHR is anxious for Nour's deteriorated health status, in which he suffers from diabetes, hypertension and also artery clogging, though EOHR demands his immediate release, especially he is not capable to escape because he is deprived from being out of the state. Also EOHR calls heads of human rights organizations and the National Council for Human Rights to send their fact-finding mission to Nour's detention place and investigate in the strike causes.
In addition, during a previous investigation in State Security Prosecution on (21/2/2005), Ayman Nour has undertaken a heart attack from 6 pm to 1 am, because of coronary artery clogging.
